This three-day course is designed to provide a comprehensive training on seawater desalination using reverse osmosis (RO) technology. The course will be conducted in two standalone components, each running over 1.5 day:
14 October (Full day) -15 October 2019 (a.m.)
15 October (p.m.)-16 October 2019 ( Full day)
The course is ideal for engineers and professionals who are working or are planning to working in the desalination industry. No prior knowledge is required. Depending on their background and interest, course attendees have the freedom to enroll in either one of the components or in both components.
About the Instructor
The course will be instructed by Dr. Chuyang Y. Tang, who is a full Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Hong Kong. His other working experiences include School of Chemical Engineering, School of Civil & Environmental Engineering, the UNESCO Centre of Membrane Science and Technology at the University of New South Wales, Australia as well as the Singapore Membrane Technology Centre and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Prof. Tang has more than a dozen years of experience on membrane technology and desalination. He is a recipient of the Finland Distinguished Professor Programme Fellow Award and the International Desalination Association (IDA) Fellow Award. He is a top 1% cited researcher in the field of membrane technology. More than 30 of his technical papers have been recognized as Top Cited Papers or Highly Cited Papers. Dr. Tang is the inventor of the Aquaporin Inside Membranes (AIMs (trademark)). He is highlighted as one of the “Desalters to Watch” by the World Desalination Report in 2015.
