FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT
Course Dates: 12, 19 June 2021. (Saturday), assessment date 26 June 2021
Course aim: This course provides opportunity for participants to earn optional CEA hours which cover content relevant to the work of the registered personnel type (namely arborists, tree risk assessors, tree work supervisors, tree climbers and chainsaw operators) subject to the approval of GLTMS.

Course objectives
* Describe properties of soil
* Explain the importance of soil quality to tree growth
* Discuss water management
* Discuss nutritional requirements and fertilisers
* Diagnose problems of mineral deficiencies
Total contact hours = 9 hours (6 hr lectures, 1 hr review, 2 hr assessment)
CEA hours for earning = 6
Trainees are required to pass the relevant assessment in order to earn the CEA
Biography of Lecturer: Dr. T. K. Goh
Dr. Goh obtained his Ph.D. degree at the University of Georgia in the U.S. in the field of plant pathology. He is currently a certified arborist, and has obtained a tree risk assessment qualification from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Dr. Goh has been a teacher and research scientist at various universities of Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Taiwan, for more than 25 years. He has worked on fungi and published more than 100 research papers in the field of mycology and plant pathology. Dr. Goh has been teaching various subjects related to plants, fungi, plant diseases and insect pests, and his method of teaching has been well received by students.
